Inner City Mission - ESPM
We partner with Eight Street Community Church (Pastor Andy Kim) in the North Philadelphia neighborhood at 8th & Butler Street. In particular, we partner with the church in their ESPM Ministry. E.S.P.M. stands for Eight Street Peace Makers. Pastor Andy and his family have been residing in the neighborhood for years in order to carry on their inner city mission work.
Every year, ESPM provides six (6) weeks of summer program to the neighborhood children. Christ Life Church has been sponsoring two (2) weeks of the program. Every year, our youth group members become residents at ESPM during the program and provide relational, emotional and educational ministry to the neighborhood children. Most of the youth group members have returned to ESPM for a number of years and have developed close relationships with the neighborhood children who come to ESPM. After two weeks, everyone becomes exhausted and tired physically but has always said that they would like to come back. |
In the summer of 2013, we were particularly happy to see our youth group come back from their ESPM experiences with much thankfulness in their hearts and noticeable spiritual growth. We believe that the best way to train and prepare our young people to be the workers for the Kingdom of God is to give them opportunities to serve others. Throughout the year, we also make efforts to maintain the relationship with the neighborhood children by visiting them and by having events together. It is our prayer and hope that the children in the inner city would experience Christ through the work of our youths.
ESPM is in constant need of your prayer and financial support. If you desire to give financially toward this ministry, we would be pleased to pass on your gifts to ESPM. When giving, please mark your giving "ESPM". |
