Our Philosophy
Our philosophy flows out of the Word of God, the Bible. They identify who we are. They also guide us in our approach to ministry.
Our Mission:To help GENERATIONS of people become DEVOTED worshippers of God and followers of Christ
“Generations of people” reflects an essential requirement of Scripture that a local church or congregation must be, first and foremost, multi-generational. In the Old Testament, God referred Himself as God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob over 100 times. In the New Testament, Paul taught Timothy “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others” (2 Timothy 2:2). These passages demonstrate both multiple biological and spiritual generations in the church.
“Devoted” reflects another essential requirement of Scripture that teaches the believers to be devoted to God. We believe that, when spiritually nurtured, people will become devoted to God. The church needs the devoted. “Worshippers of God” reflects our highest goal. We believe our identity is defined by our worship of the Eternal King, the God of the Bible. Worship of God is the reason for why we do what we do. “Followers of Jesus Christ” reflects our desire to be obedient to Christ who called us to follow Him. It means we will live out Christ in every context of our life, not just in church. “To help…become” reflects the ministry of Christ Life Church. We will help others by engaged in redemptive relationships in living out our vision. |
Our Vision:A church OVERFLOWING with CHRIST-LIFE REPRODUCERS
“Church” reflects not merely that we are a congregation or group of people but a true church – the body of Christ or the covenant community of God in its local expression, called Christ Life Church. “Church” requires a life together.
“Christ-Life” reflects the very life and essence of who are. The Bible teaches that Christ is our life and the very life the church. We do not live merely by the power of Christ but from Christ. Our life is not merely from Christ but Christ is our life. Christ remains in us. The Holy Spirit indwells in us. “Reproducers” reflects spiritual reproduction to generations. We desire to raise up generations of disciple-makers. “Overflowing” reflects the desire of God for His people to experience fullness of Him to the overflowing. God desires us to become a church that is growing in the relationship with God daily. Our work and ministry must also overflow to outside of Christ Life Church. |
